Amerex ABC Dry Chemical Fire Extinguishers
Multi-Purpose Fire Extinguisher for Class A, B and/or C Fires.
Amerex ABC fire extinguishers utilize a dry chemical (fluidized and siliconized) called monoammonium phosphate (a pale yellow powder) with compressed nitrogen as the propellant. Amerex ABC Fire Extinguishers can quickly put out Class A fires (involving paper, wood, clothes, rubber, plastics), Class B fires (involving flammable liquids and oil-based products), and Class C fires (involving electrical equipment & components). The chemical in Amerex ABC Fire Extinguishers works by smothering the fires. When a layer of powder is applied to the fire, it smothers the fire, cutting off it's fuel source (oxygen) and the fire is extinguished.
