Other snake bite protection gaiters claim to be "snake resistant". Crackshot Snake Guardz are "Snake Bite PROOF" and Crackshot backs it up with a $1 million liability policy. No other snake gaiter makes this claim. Unlike most other snake leggings, Crackshot Snake Guardz feature metatarsal (top of the foot) protection. Crackshot Snake Guardz are known for their light weight and coolness thanks to their unique design which allows for air circulation. Two other distinguishing factors of Snake Guardz is that they're available in a Mossy Oak Break-Up Camo Snake Legging and the solid color Snake Guardz are flame resistant (FR - and meet specs). All Snake Guardz are water repellent.

Snake Guardz™ are manufactured with 900 Denier Nylon, 1000 Denier Nylon or 600 Polyester fabrics encasing polycarbonate and acrylic inserts which stops the fangs of poisonous snakes. They are designed utilizing the convection cooling theory and air circulates freely between the Guardz™ and the leg of the wearer and are truly “cool, comfortable leg armor”™. The fabrics have urethane or DWR applied to the inside surface for water resistance. They cover the ankle area and lower leg, protecting to a height of 17.5 inches and the metatarsal area of the foot. Snake Guardz™ have a unique toe-cover which covers the laces of the boot or shoe (metatarsal area of the foot) and prevents the possibility of snake fangs becoming tangled in the shoelaces when struck. They weigh 12.0 ounces each and are penetration tested to ASTM-1342-05 specifications. Solid colors meet California Technical Bulletin 117 Flame Retardant Specifications. Snake Guardz™ secure to the leg of the wearer with two 1-inch polyester straps and polyurethane quick release buckles.

The Camo Snake Guardz are ideal for hunters. The solid color Snake Guardz meet California 117 (Section E CS-191-53) Flame Retardant specifications.

Snake Guardz Wearing Instructions

1.            Place Snake Guardz™ on the leg with buckle on the outside of the leg.

2.            Wrap flap on outside of leg around back of leg.

3.            Wrap flap on inside of leg around and overlap outside flap.

4.            Adjust lower strap and insert male end of buckle into female end of buckle. (Strap should be snug, not tight, on leg to allow for air circulation between guard and leg).

5.            Adjust upper strap and insert male end of buckle into female end of buckle. (Upper strap should be loose, and lower leg snug but not tight).

6.            Release lower buckle and rotate (twist strap) 180 degrees (1/2 turn) and reinsert male end into female end of buckle.

7.            Release upper buckle and rotate (twist strap) 180 degrees (1/2 turn) and reinsert male end into female end of buckle.

Steps 6 and 7 “lock” the strap into position and eliminate loosening of guardz while being worn. Excess strap may be tucked behind the strap for neat appearance. The Snake Guardz™ design keeps the guardz properly positioned on the leg without tight strap adjustment.
