Hog Slammer Trap design
• Use a “tear drop” shaped pen which will help funnel the hogs backs towards the trailer. Otherwise
the preferred shape is “round” with no “90 degree or hard corners.”
• Size matter! Bigger is better (20-30 feet in diameter)....the bigger the trap the more hogs it will catch
at one time.
• Disguise the trap....brush in around outside of fence or put up around a small group of trees.
• No gaps at the bottom of the fence...bottom of panel should rest on the ground.
• Place bait opposite end of the Hog Slammer.
Hog Baiting / Trapping tips
• Scent Control...you are dealing with the smartest animal in the woods.
• Pre-bait inside and out with gates open. It may take several weeks for the hogs to find the trap and several more for them to enter. Wait until you see evidence of the hogs entering the trap for several days, then set the trigger. This will catch more hogs. Do not get discouraged. It will only be a matter of time, and you will send them to Hog Heaven.
• If using corn, sour it by either soaking in diesel fuel, water or beer for several days. Souring the corn will discourage the deer and raccoons.
• Commercial attractants like Biologic’s Hog Addiction work fine. Try mixing it with some corn. Follow manufacturer’s instructions.
• Sow in Heat scents work. Soak a carpet-covered board inside the trap
• Check trap daily from a distance, especially in extreme heat.
• Approach trapped hogs carefully, dispatch from a safe distance, the largest one first. A trapped hog is not your friend! Use extreme caution.
• Wear rubber gloves when handling hogs to prevent disease.
• Dispose of carcassess properly.
• All meat should be cooked to an internal tempature of 170 degrees or freeze for at least a period of 20 days to kill all parasites.
• After a successful trapping. The trap can be relocated, as it may takes several weeks before another group of hogs enters that same trap.
Please obey all State and Federal Game Laws when using the Hog Slammer. Also, use caution setting the Hog Slammer gate. Because of the tension in the spring, pain or injury could occur if hands or fingers were caught between the gate and the frame.

Well Built
Good product so far. Appears to be very well built with solid welds and finish. Just installed as part of a 30' circular catch pin. Will see how it works against our hog invasion.
