It provides protection, not ventilation.

These gaiters, along with ankle high boots, should provide protection from venomous snakes. I took my gear for a test run, and found these were not all that uncomfortable. But they don't allow for any air flow. I figure they could be easily modified without hindering it's ability to protect the user, and I just might.

I would recommend only to individuals who aren't candied donkeys.
