Warwood Tool Track Adze Hoe | 34" Hickory Handle (with or without orange safety handle)
A Track Adze is also referred to as a Railroad Adze!
Adapted from a standard carpenter adze sometime around the middle of the 20th century, the Track Adze (also known as a railroad adze) has a longer “bit” end intended to help protect the handle from breaking in use. Track adzes are most commonly used for shaping railroad ties and bridge timbers.
The Warwood Track Adze weighs 6 lbs. and is not only longer than a Carpenter Adze but also narrower, with a rounded 4” cutting edge. Like the Carpenter Adze, the Track Adze is swung downward with two hands toward a workpiece positioned between the user’s feet. The Track Adze is built to the latest revision of AREMA Plan #12.
Like all Warwood tools, it is hand-forged in Wheeling, WV, from premium American steel by hardworking Americans.
Designed to meet or exceed AREMA Plan #12-07
