WD-40 lubricates just about any and all moving parts like hinges, wheels, rollers, chains and gears. WD-40 also prevents/protects metals from rust and corrosion. Inherently, WD-40 penetrates to loosen tight parts like bolts, valves, locks, etc. WD-40 can also be used to remove stuck on adhesives, corrosion and paint. WD-40 can also displace water off of engines, spark plugs and power tools as it's insoluble in water.
